  • Governor Janet Mills and MaineHousing announced today an extension of the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program administered by Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) here in Aroostook County. The rental assistance program, established in April, allows households who meet income guidelines, and are unable to pay their rent due to loss or decreased income as a result of COVID-19, to receive a one-time, up to $500 payment in rental assistance to be paid directly to their landlord.


  • Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) has begun the process of collecting data for a Community Needs Assessment. A Community Needs Assessment is a process conducted by Community Action Agencies nationwide every three years to determine the underlying causes and conditions of poverty within the community they serve and identify the available resources to address the unmet needs of the community's most vulnerable residents.


  • Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) will locally administer a temporary COVID-19 rent relief program announced today by Governor Janet Mills. The partnership between the Governor’s Office, MaineHousing and the state’s ten Community Action Agencies will allow renters to apply for a one-time $500 payment to their landlords in order to avoid eviction for the month of that payment, at this point April or May.
