OUR SERVICES & PARTNERSHIPS
Aroostook County Action Program provides the people of Aroostook with services and resources that help individuals and their familes achieve greater economic independence.
ACAP Today!
ACAP Today is a weekly webisode created to keep Aroostook County residents informed about available community resources. Each week ACAP CEO/Executive Director Jason Parent delivers important news updates and conducts a feature interview. The interviews include ACAP Team members as well as community and state partners.
On this weeks ACAP Today Jason checks in with Shannon Hill and Randy Rattray for the ACAP Energy and Housing Team. They discuss the available Home Repair Programs that ACAP offers and the need for local contractors.
WE OFFER MORE THAN 40 PROGRAMS TO OUR COMMUNITY.
ACAP Coaching Services are available to individuals and families. Our coaches work with clients on overcoming challenges and identify pathways to achieving their goals. Coaches work alongside individuals and families offering guidance and support along the way.
ACAP provides families with comprehensive and affordable high quality prenatal, infant, toddler, and preschool education and child development programs. Services also include family and child health and nutrition services.
We keep people warm, safe, and dry in their homes with a variety of programs that offer education or assistance in areas of heating and energy efficiency, and home purchase, repair, and assistance for people facing foreclosure or eviction.
We build a stronger, healthier community by partnering with local and statewide organizations to offer prevention services that focus on nutrition, oral health, substance use, tobacco, obesity, and youth engagement.
We assist job seekers with going back to school or developing skills and help people overcome common barriers that might stand in their way in areas such as transportation and childcare.
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program can pay for rent and some utilities owed back to March 13, 2020. The program will also cover up to three months of upcoming rent and utilities. Utilities include electricity, water, sewer, trash, and heat. The
program can also cover late fees for rent as long as the late fees are legal and
included in your lease. The program can also cover expenses such as internet or
relocation and other moving expenses. You may apply for help with paying for
utilities even if you do not need help paying for rent.

“I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for this gift. How wonderful it was to wash my dishes last night without having to heat pots of water on the stove first! I’ve had to do this for years. What your agency is doing is an incredible service.”
