Aroostook County Action Program, United Way of Aroostook and WAGM-TV are hosting the sixth annual Helping Hands Telethon on Thursday, November 17th from 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., live on WAGM.  The day-long broadcast will raise funds to meet emergency fuel needs for those who don’t otherwise qualify for fuel assistance.

ACAP will put your funds to use allocating emergency fuel to warm the homes of seniors, families and many others in need when no other resources are available or accessible.  The dollars you donate will be used only when other funds are not accessible.  Households receiving assistance will be further offered other supportive services to help them avoid future emergencies, including household budgeting and workforce development, where appropriate.

“I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for this gift. How wonderful it was to wash my dishes last night without having to heat pots of water on the stove first! I’ve had to do this for years. What your agency is doing is an incredible service.”
