OUR SERVICES & PARTNERSHIPS
Aroostook County Action Program provides the people of Aroostook with services and resources that help individuals and their familes achieve greater economic independence.
Maine Leaders Conversation Series
From November 23 through January 4– we will be reserving the feature interview on each edition of ACAP Today for a Maine Leader. The topics of the conversations center on priorities headed into a new year/new session, reflections on 2020, and, as appropriate, discussion on specific programs we offer the community to help low-income residents succeed, and related thoughts on the legislative end. Leaders confirmed as participating include U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King, Congressman Jared Golden, Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah, Maine Senate President Troy Jackson and newly elected State Senator and current Maine House Assistant Minority Leader Trey Stewart. Jackson and Stewart both serve on the ACAP Board of Directors as Public Sector representatives.
WE OFFER MORE THAN 40 PROGRAMS TO OUR COMMUNITY.
ACAP Coaching Services are available to individuals and families. Our coaches work with clients on overcoming challenges and identify pathways to achieving their goals. Coaches work alongside individuals and families offering guidance and support along the way.
ACAP provides families with comprehensive and affordable high quality prenatal, infant, toddler, and preschool education and child development programs. Services also include family and child health and nutrition services.
We keep people warm, safe, and dry in their homes with a variety of programs that offer education or assistance in areas of heating and energy efficiency, and home purchase, repair, and assistance for people facing foreclosure or eviction.
We build a stronger, healthier community by partnering with local and statewide organizations to offer prevention services that focus on nutrition, oral health, substance use, tobacco, obesity, and youth engagement.
We assist job seekers with going back to school or developing skills and help people overcome common barriers that might stand in their way in areas such as transportation and childcare.
Aroostook County Action Program supports thousands of individuals across Aroostook County. Learn more about Beau’s journey as he shares his story of hardships and how ACAP helped him overcome them.

“I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for this gift. How wonderful it was to wash my dishes last night without having to heat pots of water on the stove first! I’ve had to do this for years. What your agency is doing is an incredible service.”
