ACAP to administer newly expanded rental relief program for County residents to help prevent evictions, counter reductions in Federal Unemployment Benefits. Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) will locally administer an expanded rental assistance program that will double the amount households impacted economically by COVID-19 are eligible to receive, and extend the number of months applicants can receive support.
Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) has been awarded $15,000 from the John T. Gorman Foundation to provide additional social supports to families with young children.
Governor Janet Mills and MaineHousing announced today an extension of the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program administered by Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) here in Aroostook County. The rental assistance program, established in April, allows households who meet income guidelines, and are unable to pay their rent due to loss or decreased income as a result of COVID-19, to receive a one-time, up to $500 payment in rental assistance to be paid directly to their landlord.
