Aroostook County Action Program Receives Support from Versant Power
Presque Isle—Versant Power is pleased to announce a $10,000 charitable donation to the Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) for their diligent work to support families, particularly through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ve been inspired by the great work ACAP has done to support families in Northern Maine during this difficult time,” said Tim Pease, Vice President of Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Versant Power. “Versant Power is committed to making a lasting impact in the communities our employees and our customers call home.”
Versant Power is the state's second-largest electric utility. The company delivers electricity to more than 159,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across 10,400 square miles in five counties in eastern and northern Maine.
ACAP will use this generous $10,000 donation from Versant Power to help support local families during the pandemic. These fund come at a critical time as the needs continue to grow for residents in Aroostook County. ACAP has committed this donation specifically to support struggling families during this difficult time.
“This generous gift from Versant Power will allow us to continue to meet the needs in our community during this challenging time,” said Jamie Chandler, Chief Operating Officer at ACAP. She continued, “We have seen a sharp increase in the number of calls each day as we are serving individuals and families who have never turned to us for support before. With the support of partners, funders and community stakeholders we are able to blend and braid multiple funding streams together to establish and grow the programs that so many in our community are dependent on.”
