How We Make Life Better

for families...

"The Early Head Start Program has been a wonderful influence on my child and our family. The staff is amazing and wonderful."

"I am very happy with the program! Susie* is learning so much, I feel that she is able to meet her potential here."

"Keith* has made so many new friends at daycare. He loves going, he talks about all the teachers. He also loves being able to play outside...and talks more about the weather, numbers and letters. Thank you to everyone for making me feel comfortable and safe to drop off Keith."

for reaching life goals...

As one of five children in a low-income family, Kayla's college dreams seemed out of reach. With support through the Workforce Investment Act and goal setting with ACAP Job Counselor Mike Jordan, Kayla earned her CNA certification, allowing her to work while attending school. She has graduated from UMPI with a degree in Biology. Her next goal is graduate school to become a physician's assistant!

"You came into my life at a time when I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go in. You gave me sound advice, encouraged me along the way when I felt discouraged, and you went to bat for me when I desperately needed a computer. I'll never forget your kindness, generosity and humor."

"I can't begin to thank you for helping me on my journey into more than just school. I looked forward to coming in to talk with you. Thanks for being interested in my goals and accomplishments."

"I want to thank you for believing in me and for all your help.. I know sometimes I may have been difficult to deal with but I think that was my fear of the unknown. You always had my back so thank you!!!! "

"Without the support of ACAP I would not be able to pursue my dream of becoming a school teacher. Thank - you ACAP for all that you do for me."
