Job Services

Adult Program - ACAP helps over 200 Aroostook County adults every year, matching them with a personal job counselor to help them decide the next step in their career, and how to find the resources to pay for it. Adult services include:

• help with job search

• help with completing a high school diploma

• college preparation and transition activities; occupational training (like CNA and CDL certifications); training in how to start your own business

• paid on-the-job training and work experience in high-wage, high-demand careers

• people attending training or classes can qualify for additional help with childcare and transportation while they attend class or work.

Youth Program - Job counselors work with eligible youth (ages 16 to 24) to identify educational and career goals, and give them special help to reach those goals, including tutoring, financial education, and being matched with a mentor – a successful person already in the Aroostook County workforce who can help give guidance along the way.

• tutoring, study skills training, and high school completion

• paid work experience

• help applying to college and paying for college classes

• occupational skill training, with a focus on recognized college and employment credentials and in-demand occupations

• supportive services like help paying for childcare for parents; follow-up services for at least 12 months after program completion; comprehensive guidance and counseling, including drug and alcohol abuse counseling if needed; entrepreneurial skills training
